Stephanie Burton, LMHCA

Stephanie Burton was born and raised on the south side of Fort Wayne, particularly in the 46806 zip code. Having known an ‘06 where the fullness of life exists, now knowing the area is designated as having one of the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the state and country - particularly for Black families - Stephanie has a deeply rooted desire to offer a sense of hope and create spaces of trust and bravery. A millennial, proud HBCU graduate, who grew up where the worlds of the Black church culture, visual arts, music, service, and community intersect, these experiences are part of what has shaped Stephanie’s worldview and allow her to relate with a variety of people.

Stephanie currently holds membership in the American Counseling Association (ACA), Postpartum Support International (PSI), and PSI’s Perinatal Mental Health Alliance for People of Color. In addition, she is PSI trained in Perinatal Mood Disorders, working towards earning the PSI Perinatal Mental Health Certification. She has over 10 years of experience in the human services field, specifically in case management related to ending homelessness among Veterans and providing support to youth in the juvenile justice system. Her formal education and professional experience have prepared her to counsel individual adults, adolescents, children; groups; couples; parents; and families.

Outside the counseling office, Stephanie enjoys spending time with loved ones, painting, crocheting, listening to soulful music, collecting vinyl records, and watching social, cultural, and historical documentaries and old-school Black sitcoms. Stephanie has been a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. since 2007.
