What Is the Mobile Crisis Unit?
Courageous Healing has launched a Mobile Crisis Response Team serving all of Allen County, funded by a $1 million grant through Indiana's Mobile Crisis Accelerator Program (MCAP).
We send trained professionals directly to you whether at home, school, work, or in your community so you get the right help at the right time.
Who We Serve
Anyone in Allen County experiencing a mental health or behavioral health crisis, including:
• Communities of Color
• Southeast Fort Wayne residents (46803, 46806, 46816)
• Low-income or uninsured individuals
• LGBTQ+ individuals
• Those hesitant to call 911
Our team reflects your community. We provide care that is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and free of judgment.
What We Do
When you call, we:
• Respond on-site within 30 minutes or less
• Send licensed clinicians + trained peer support specialists
• Provide de-escalation, emotional support & safety planning
• Administer naloxone for overdose emergencies
• Connect you to mental health, housing & community resources
• Coordinate with hospitals, 988 & 911 when needed
After a Crisis
You won't be left on your own:
• 3–5 individual therapy sessions to help you stabilize
• Warm handoff to ongoing mental health services
• Connections to housing, food & transportation resources
• Follow-up check-ins from your peer support specialist
First session scheduled within 72 hours of your crisis contact.

• Few providers who reflect BIPOC clients' experiences
• Services underused due to stigma & inaccessibility
• Over-reliance on ER & law enforcement for mental health crises
