Dawn Smith, MSEd, LMHCA

Dawn Smith is a Strategy Integrator and Licensed Therapist at Courageous Healing, where she leads with both clinical expertise and strategic vision to expand access to culturally responsive mental health care. Raised on the south side of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dawn brings over 13 years of experience in public service, community leadership, and mental health practice.

As a therapist, Dawn works with individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, and the emotional weight of showing up for others while feeling unseen themselves. Her approach is humanistic, goal-oriented, and rooted in cultural awareness, supporting clients in reconnecting with their identity, establishing boundaries, and building lives that feel aligned and sustainable. She views therapy as a collaborative and empowering process, where healing is not only possible, but intentional.

Beyond the therapy space, Dawn plays a key role in shaping programs, initiatives, and strategic growth within Courageous Healing. She is deeply committed to addressing gaps in mental health care and advocating for communities that have historically been overlooked.

Dawn is the author of Enough: To Uplift and Inspire Those Who Have Forgotten Their Value, a reflective journal created to help individuals reconnect with their worth during seasons of transition. Her work centers on reminding people that their lives, voices, and presence carry value — even when circumstances suggest otherwise.

Outside of her professional work, Dawn is actively engaged in community service and leadership. She values family deeply and enjoys creating meaningful experiences with her loved ones. In her personal time, she finds restoration through writing, painting, and intentional self-care practices.

"I became a therapist to help people discover self-love and change the narrative that one must accept life's situations as they are."
